Storieze

Privacy Policy

Effective October 25, 2026. This policy explains what personal information Storieze collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to storieze.com and the Storieze app.

Who we are

Storieze is a service that helps families and creators make personalised, illustrated and narrated storybooks. In this policy, “Storieze”, “we” and “us” mean the people who run Storieze, based in British Columbia, Canada. You can reach us at support@storieze.com.

Information we collect

  • Account details. Your email address and a password (our sign-in provider keeps passwords only in scrambled form) or, if you choose “Login with Google” or “Login with Facebook”, the name and email address that service shares with us. We never see your Google or Facebook password.
  • Story information. The names, ages, pronouns, traits, favourite things and descriptions you enter for the people, pets and characters in your stories; the ideas and instructions you give us; the stories, pages and translations you write, import or create; and the pictures made for them.
  • Reference photos (optional). A photo you upload so a character can look like a real person. It is sent to our illustration provider to make the character pictures. Storieze does not keep a copy of the photo on its own servers, although a copy may stay in your browser.
  • Voice recordings (optional, adults only). If you make a narration voice from your own voice, your recording is sent to our voice provider to create it, and we record your explicit consent. We keep the voice's name and the record of your consent, not the recording. If you remove the voice, it is deleted from our voice provider.
  • Dictation. If you use the microphone button to speak instead of type, the audio is sent to our speech-to-text provider and turned into text. We don't keep the audio.
  • Payments and billing. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your plan, billing interval, renewal date, a Stripe customer reference, and the amounts and dates of your payments. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Print orders. If you order a printed book, the delivery name, address and phone number you give us, which we pass to our print partner and keep with the order record.
  • Messages. Anything you send to our support team.
  • Usage and technical information. Which features you use, how many credits each job uses, and the type, status and cost of each creation job; your browser type and, as with any website, your IP address when a page loads. When something goes wrong we record technical details so we can fix it: which action failed, the error message, the browser used, your account email and sometimes a short excerpt of what the AI returned. Only Storieze staff can see these records.

How we use it

  • To provide, secure and support Storieze: signing you in, creating, saving, narrating and printing your stories, and sending you the emails the service needs.
  • To take payments, renew subscriptions, keep your credit balance, and prevent fraud.
  • To answer your questions and to find and fix problems, including by reading error records.
  • To keep Storieze safe: detecting misuse, enforcing our Terms of Service, and meeting legal obligations.
  • To understand and improve the service, using simple counts of how features are used. We don't run advertising.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your stories, photos or voice to show you advertising or to train our own AI models.

Who receives it

To make a storybook we send the information each step needs to the companies below, which process it for us. Each handles it under its own terms and privacy policy, and we send only what a step needs.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of Storieze (we would tell you first).

Children and family information

  • Storieze accounts are for adults. Children don't have their own accounts, and we don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
  • Parents, guardians and educators can put a child's first name, age, interests or picture into a story. If you do, you confirm you are entitled to, and we ask you to keep it to what the story needs: please don't enter surnames, home addresses, school names or other sensitive details.
  • Recording a voice is for adults only, and only with the speaker's own consent. Never record a child's voice.
  • If you think a child has given us personal information, email support@storieze.com and we will delete it.

Cookies and local storage

  • We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic, such as how many people visit Storieze and which pages they view. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address and browser details; Google's own privacy policy explains how it handles that information. We use it to measure usage, not for advertising, and we don't sell or share it with anyone else.
  • To work, the app keeps your sign-in session, settings, drafts and a copy of your library in your browser's storage. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
  • Stripe's payment code, which loads on our pages, sets its own cookies to prevent fraud.

How long we keep it

  • We keep your account, stories and billing records while your account is open. Stories stay until you delete them.
  • If you ask us to close your account we delete it and your stories, except information we must keep (for example payment and tax records) or need to deal with fraud, security or a legal dispute.
  • Technical records, such as creation jobs and error logs, are kept for as long as we need them to run and protect the service.
  • Copies held by our providers and in backups are removed on their normal schedules.

Your choices and rights

  • In the app you can see and correct what you've given us, delete any story, and remove a custom voice.
  • For anything else, such as a copy of your information, a correction, closing your account or withdrawing consent, email support@storieze.com. We aim to reply within 30 days.
  • Depending on where you live (for example Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom or California) you may have further rights, such as asking how your information is used or complaining to your privacy regulator. We respect them.

Where information is stored

Our database is in the United States (Ohio), and our providers run their services mainly from the United States. Your information may therefore be processed outside the country where you live, where privacy laws can differ from yours.

Security

We use encrypted connections, keep uploaded and generated files in private storage, limit who at Storieze can see personal information, and choose reputable providers. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us straight away at support@storieze.com if you think your account has been misused.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
